The City of Merrill is located in Northwest Iowa at the heart of Plymouth County, population 717.
Merrill Was officially recognized on February 27, 1872 and became an incorporated city on April 24, 1894 and was named after Samual Merrill, the seventh Governor of Iowa.

Upcoming HWY 75 Closures
3/24/2025
Starting April 7, 2025, HWY 75, North and Southbound lanes will be closed at the Railroad Tracks just south of Caseys, for railroad repairs. This closure will be approximately 2 weeks at which time detours will be in place.
